Black Tea

Black tea is the most commonly served tea in the Western world. Black teas are more oxidized than green, white and oolong teas, and are generally stronger in flavor and more caffeinated. The additional oxidization also help to preserve black tea longer than other types, which can often lose their flavor after 1-2 years. For this reason, black tea was a common article of trade across the silk road between China and the Middle East and Europe.

There are 2051 reviews available for this category, for 1045 different varieties.

Joy's Teaspoon Cinnamon Roll

10/10  —  1 review
Teaviews Member: Melanie Melanie's review:
"The smell of the brewed tea is sweet and spicy. It is dark and full bodied and it has a slight natural sweetness to it. I found, to my delight, that after it has steeped, the cinnamon is tamed down a bit. It still has a nice cinnamon "bite" to it, but it doesn't overpower the black tea, nor does it make my tongue burn."

The Ruby tea tree was derived from the hybridization of a Burmese tea tree and Taiwan's wild tea and is remarkable for a cinnamon fragrance with a slight hint of mint."

"This cup is surprisingly balanced; the Laoshan Black provides a malty chocolate background for the spices. The ginger is not overpowering, it provides a nice bite and is coupled by the tang of tulsi. The spiciness of the peppercorns and fennel are then noticed paired with the fruitiness of goji berry and elderberry. "

"The flavor was all first flush excellence. I detected no astringency, not even on the light side. Bitterness also didn't rear its face-implosive head. Nutmeg, jasmine, and a drop of molasses came to mind as I sipped this. "
