Chamomile (also known as German Chamomile or Camomile) is an annual, flowering plant related to the sunflower family. It grows natively through Europe and Asia, and has been introduced into North America and Australia. Chamomile tea and herbal extracts are widely used medicinally to sooth troubled stomachs and as a gentle sleep aid. It is one of the most popular types of herbal tea currently on the U.S. market.
