Chicory root has long been cultivated throughout Europe as a coffee substitute. It has traditionally been used to treat dyspepsia, loss of appetite, liver and gallbladder problems, Type II Diabetes, constipation, gallstones, sinus problems and even cuts and bruises. It is generally roasted when used in tea and provides a rich, earthy taste similar in many ways to that of coffee.

Laura's review: "Probably because I don't like licorice, it was all I could taste for the majority of the cup. I could taste the various spices too, and even the cherry and vanilla at certain points, but this just doesn't really work for me." Read review » |

Vanessa's review: "Chocolate and spices seem to pair well for me, and the cherry-chocolate-spice blend earned a big thumbs up from me as well. This tea was not overly sweet, but had just enough natural sweetness for me to forgo adding any sugar or honey." Read review » |

Stephen's review: "More a spiced tea than a chocolate tea... the foundation flavors here are from the chicory root, cardamom and licorice root. Chocolate flavoring here is a mere afterthought, if its detected at all." Read review » |

Laura's review: "This tea is an interesting concept that I would like to see tweaked so that it is a little less roasted and bitter. I found myself getting a little nauseated by the overly roasted, bitter, syrupy sweet taste of this and couldn't finish my cup." Read review » |
