The Simple Leaf

The Simple Leaf celebrates the elegant simplicity of a fresh cup of tea. We import tea directly from estates across South Asia several times a year to ensure that our leaves always remain at the peak of freshness. Our teas are chosen not only because of their taste — and we think they are all outstanding in their own right — but because they have remarkable stories to tell. So whether we are tasting Madan’s tea or Binod’s, it’s the personal connections with the source that make each sip special. We hope it does for you too.
The Simple Leaf is an importer and retailer of South Asian teas and is based in Chicago, Illinois. You can visit their web site at: http://www.thesimpleleaf.com/

Vanessa's review: "The flavor was rich and characterized by chocolate and honey notes. The chocolate flavor was a bit weaker than what was detected in the aroma, but was still quite enjoyable. My only regret about this tea is that I let it sit in my sample basket for a while before getting around to brewing and enjoying it!" Read review » |

Laura's review: "This is pretty mild and naturally sweet and I also think that I detect some honey notes along the way. Make no mistake though there is a slightly bitter component to this in the aftertaste, but it is a sweet pleasant bitterness." Read review » |

Joe's review: "I find myself thinking about this tea (and wanting some) throughout the day. In fact, as I write this, Iʼm thinking about making a cup. And I never drink caffeine at night. Is this the beginning of an addiction?" Read review » |

Katie's review: "I would recommend this tea to any oolong novice as it clearly demonstrates the depth and uniquness that can be found in this branch of tea. As an added bonus, for such a lavish tea with no fillers, Honeybee Oolong is very reasonably priced." Read review » |

Vanessa's review: "To me, the floral and fruity notes were present in the aroma of the dry leaves (and I should take a moment here to state that the aroma of the dry leaves is outstanding- really crisp and refreshing!), but the floral and fruit notes were less obvious in the brewed liquid." The Simple Leaf Tankha

Laura's review: "A nice Darjeeling - one that is less dry than its black tea cousin, complex, and medium in body... though barely qualifies as an oolong in taste." Read review » |

 |
Jamie's review: "Sweet and fragrant is what you get with Tankha. It's deliciously sweet, in a subtle almost honeysuckle like way, and the tea brews to a pretty pale caramel like color. The sweetness is almost floral, almost citrusy, but not overwhelmingly either, and it's wonderfully pleasant." Read review » |

Geoff's review: "Any complexity of taste was overshadowed by a roasted, dry sensation; about as floral as a forest fire. In short, deep and somewhat delightful like its tapestry namesake suggests." Read review » |

 |
Vanessa's review: "In all, this tea was really flavorful and appealing, however my mind could not accept that this was an oolong tea. While Tankha may be oolong by definition of how it was processed, the flavor, to me, is entirely that of a Darjeeling black tea." Read review » |
