For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a tea fanatic. My earliest tea memories go back to early childhood. My mother first introduced me to it, I’m sure, because I don’t remember my father ever being much of a tea-drinker. Of course, Mom had her own way of making tea. She’d brew a plain tea bag (Lipton, or, being of the thrifty sort, probably generic-brands) in a single cup and then she’d pour about a half-inch of so of orange juice into it. No milk, no sugar - just orange juice. ... read more »

I'm Lea. I'm twenty two, was born in Ohio, and am currently residing in Alabama. I love vegan cooking, and (intelligent) survival horror movies, Asian culture, cats and, of course, tea. An ideal afternoon for me would be reading up on a Chinese empress with one of my cats curled in my lap, a steaming cup of tea beside me. My relationship with tea began when I was a child. My mom would make me a cup if I didnt feel well or couldn't sleep. A couple years later I was making it for myself, alway... read more »

Hi my name is Shane. I'm 18 years old, born, raised, and residing in Pennsylvania. I love science (more specifically of math, physics, space, etc.), playing and listening to music (I play mandolin and guitar), cult movies (such as Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), spicy food, philosophy and the wonderful drink of tea. It's just never quite a perfect day until I can have at least one good cuppa tea. My journey with tea began quite early in my life and like just about ... read more »

I am a married woman in my mid 40's with a full time job and one teenage daughter, (which probably explains why one of my tea searches has been for the perfect tea to help me relax for a great night's sleep). I was actually in the Navy in my younger days and never managed to become a coffee enthusiast as seems to be almost a prerequisite for military life! I have always enjoyed tea instead, with Bigelows Cinnamon Stick being an early favorite that I actually still enjoy. I have done quite a bit ... read more »

Hello, I’m David. I’m in my late forties, was born in Oklahoma, but have spent almost all of my life in Texas. When I’m not enjoying the company of my wife, twin daughters, and two dogs, I enjoy music of all kinds, outdoor activities (hiking, camping, and sailing when I have the opportunity), reading, watching sci-fi, chocolate, and, of course, tea. In fact, increasingly over the past few years, tea has become an essential part of my life, especially when accompanied by some equally good c... read more »

Hello, My name is Clay and I am 17 years old. I was born and raised in Canada. I am currently residing in Utah. My favorite thing in the world is tea. I drink about five to ten cups a day, but some of my other interests are Martial arts, Eastern Philosophy, as well as ancient Chinese and Japanese cultural studies, and of course the amazing drink that is tea! My self discovery involving tea started when I became interested in botany and plants. As I was looking around at different plants I ca... read more »

I am an attorney in Arlington, Texas. I drink at least two large cups of tea everyday. My first love for tea came from drinking my mother’s Lipton instant tea with sweet and low when I was a child. It was always best when it had been sitting for a while and the ice was melted. I dropped tea for a long term addiction to Dr. Pepper, but was reintroduced in early 2007. Oh, I tried hot tea from time to time, but it was always the common ones: Orange Spice or Chamomile. I tried some other teas ever... read more »

I'm Rebekah, and I don't remember not being a tea drinker. I grew up on sweet Southern iced tea, sweetened with Sweet-n-Low as a concession to my diabetic mother and brother. I first started drinking hot teas while visiting an aunt in my early pre-teen years, we would sip on herbal infusions while eating frozen grapes and watching television at night. While the herbal infusions that I tried then were not my favorite, they sparked my interest in exploring the realm of tea. I am now a die hard te... read more »

My name is Jeff and I am a graduate student. I currently live just outside Boston, MA. My two favorite things are music and tea. Often I can be found playing banjo for hours on end along with my favorite tunes. I come from a long line of coffee drinkers but somehow I managed to buck that trend. I love to write as well. I've lived in the greater Boston area all my life but I may switch coasts sometime in the near future. When it came to tea, I came a bit late in the game. I saw a box of Bigelo... read more »

My name is Vanessa and I am a 27 year old marine biologist. I am an animal lover (but not an extremist), and my 3 small dogs run my life. My other passions include music, triathlons, half-marathons, and any activity that involves me being in the ocean. I currently live just south of Miami. Despite the near-constant warm weather, I still crave tea, although about half of my daily intake is of the iced variety. I believe that some teas just taste better hot, while others are destined to be mixed w... read more »

Hello, I'm Troy. I'm originally from southern California, but I currently live in California's beautiful central coast. I officially I moved up here for work, unofficially I love being so close to so many vineyards. In many ways my new found appreciation, and dare I say love, for Teas and Tisanes, stems from the extended pallet I've developed from drinking wine. Many of the concepts of wine tasting carry over to Tea. In order to really taste a good Tea you still have to break the flavor down int... read more »

Tea is a rather delicate subject, and rightly so, for it is also a delicate drink. Where soda satisfies the stripling, wine tickles the fancy of the well budgeted oenophile, beer occupies the serious brew monger, and water to the aesthetic and the athlete, tea is altogether itself. It belongs to nobody, yet almost everybody is beholden to tea. I am no exception, having recently been lassoed by the drink's fine charms after a stunning cup of Chinese black tea during an hour of unrest and panic... read more »

I'm Nicole and I'm twenty four. I've lived in New Jersey for all of my life. I'm a big time animal lover, especially cats, betta fish and horses. I currently work in a pet boutique and it's a blast. I've also recently discovered my love for tea. I have always enjoyed the standard Lipton black tea while having late night chats with my mother. When the time came for me to go away to college, I stated to branch out and try some the herbal teas in the grocery stores. Then earlier this year I discove... read more »

My name is Trent, and I’m a 16 year old from Santa Cruz, CA. I enjoy sports such as skiing, mountain biking, and skim-boarding. Photography is my foremost passion, so I often use my Skis and mountain bike to access more remote, and photogenic areas. I frequently bike deep into the Santa Cruz mountains and ski in the Tahoe backcountry. Additionally, I have always had an interest in gourmet food. Once when I was 7 years old and at I sushi bar, I ordered uni (sea urchin). Our waitress refused to ... read more »

My name is Casey and I'm a graduate student in Chinese literature. I've been really into tea since becoming addicted to Japanese sencha while studying in Japan. Since then I've experimented with a wide variety of teas, becoming partial especially to Taiwanese Oolongs, though plain, fragrant sencha remains my all-time favorite. I've also lived in mainland China, where I enjoyed a lot of flavored blacks as well as some excellent flower teas, such as rose and crysanthemum. I don't generally take an... read more »

I’m Jake, a 19 year old studying ship design in New York while entertaining a growing interest in tea on the side. I grew up on the beautiful Monterey Bay, CA, where I first became passionate about all things culinary. Nowadays, I stick to tea. I drink just about everything I can find, but especially love wuyi cliff teas, and a crisp fresh green tea always seems to hit the spot. I’m slowly venturing into pu’erh, but I never know which ones to buy so it’s a hit or miss proposition. ... read more »

My name is Shelly, and I live in northern Ohio. One of my main passions in life is tea. For as long as I can remember, tea has been a part of my daily life. While growing up, the sight of a sun tea jug sitting on our front porch brewing was common. On occasion, if the jug accidentally stayed out all night, we drank “moon tea” - the stronger, the better. However, I did not become a hard-core tea drinker until about five or six years ago. I remember where and when I distinctly became a... read more »

I'm in my late 30's, from Northern California and living in Utah. My perfect life would alternate between lying in a sunny spot with a warm drink and a bowl of semi-melted ice cream while reading and learning languages, or in airports between heart-stopping views. I remember getting into oolong-shot contests with my brother when I was around 12. After drinking a few pots each, it was lucky we were at an age where frequent bathroom breaks happened anyway. I've been raised mainly with oolon... read more »
