marketspice-northwest-break1.jpgThis tea was one of a set that a former roommate brought home for Christmas. It is a blend of Ceylon and Darjeeling teas, brought to us from the MarketSpice brand which originated in the Pike Place Market of Seattle, Washington. MarketSpice is most known for their original blend tea (now known as Cinnamon-Orange), but I greatly prefer this Northwest Breakfast for its earthy tones and the fact that the tea takes center stage in this blend.


The title says it all, dream with me for a minute and imagine yourself sitting on your porch watching the mists rise off of the mountains or waking up after a night of camping in a pine forest, you are reminded of the smell of pine trees on a bright crisp morning in the Pacific Northwest by Northwest Breakfast Tea. This tea has a slightly nutty taste that I at first thought was my rice milk, but is in fact an enjoyable undertone. While this is a good hearty breakfast tea, normally to be enjoyed with milk, there is enough balance to it that it is great without it, and it has the robust flavor that we want with a breakfast tea. This tea will find its way to my shelves again.
