Thumbs up!"A nicely-blended herbal tea, with rosehip and black currant as the primary flavors. Health benefits and great taste in a single blend, what more could you ask for?"

mightyleaf-spirulina.jpgOf all the "Wellness Teas" that Mighty Leaf so graciously provided us to review, I have to admit that "Spirulina Stamina" was the one I was least excited to try.  Not only is the name itself just unappetizing, but my wife some time ago got the idea to store a jar of spirulina something-or-other in our fridge and it stunk to high heaven.  So, let's say I went into this experience expecting... well, not a whole lot.

And once again, my expectations were completely shattered.

Every single "Wellness Tea" I've tried from Mighty Leaf so far has been either quite good or downright excellent.  I'm not a new-age health nut, and truth be told, I tend not to buy into all the craze about herbal health benefits, so I didn't approach these blends from that perspective.  I'm interested primarily in taste, and every single blend has delivered.  Spirulina Stamina, in fact, is one of the better ones of the bunch.

The primary flavors here are rosehip and black currant, both of which blend nicely to provide a subtle berry-flavored brew.  The cinnamon and mint add a little extra dimension, but you'll be hard-pressed to pick them out individually.  Apart from those ingredients there is also schizandra, black berry leaves, green mate, spirulina (of course), and "natural flavors".  (None of these make themselves particularly apparent in the brew as far as I can tell.)

Anyone who really enjoys well-blended herbal teas will almost certainly find this blend - and for that matter, most if not all of Mighty Leaf's Wellness Teas - to their liking.  And if you subscribe to the benefits of herbal remedies, all the better... these teas are chock-full of nutrients.  Spirulina stamina is particularly rich in protein, iron, magnesium and vitamin B-12.
