Thumbs up!"Plenty of teas that include mint in them, but none of them that I have come across have had it center stage and pull it off as well as this one."

casablanca-twist-adagio.jpgCasablanca Twist from Adagio tea is their own little spin on Moroccan Mint tea which is mixture of gunpowder tea and mint. Adagio takes this same idea, but replaces the smoky gunpowder tea with a smoother first flush Darjeeling tea from India.

The tea is visually beautiful with the light green mint leaves mixed in with the darker tea leaves. This tea wafts with smell so much you could arguably use it as a replacement for vapor rub when you get a cold. Opening the bag and taking a nice whiff of this tea would probably clear you up quite nicely. The brew was surprisingly similar in color to any other Darjeeling tea and the smell was everywhere.

There is a very refreshing mint flavor to the tea with just the right amount of sweetness. It is not overpowering at all and the Darjeeling tea mixed with it adds crispness and almost acts as a stage for the mint flavors to do their thing all over your tongue. This is a mint tea that I can drink all year round, hot in the winter and iced in the summer. Cutting up some lemon and throwing it in a pitcher with this tea would be a wonderful addition to a hot day. I liked that I did not have to add sugar to this tea because I feel it would have brought out the mint too much, but the tea gives the mint just the right amount to carry through. A truly delightful tea that I am sure will be on my orders again and again. There are plenty of teas that include mint in them, but none of them that I have come across have had it center stage and pull it off as well as this one.
