teatable-moroccan-mint.jpgIngredients - China gunpowder green tea, Spearmint.

For those of you who are not very familiar to Morocco, here is a little information for you. Morocco is one of the biggest tea importers in the world and supposedly the first importer of Chinese green tea in the world. On average, according to the Moroccan trade ministry they imported over $56 million of Chinese green tea in the first half of 2006.

Now, lets get down to the tea. The leaves are a somewhat black with a tint of green. They are not leaves really, but little bits. They are quite ugly as a matter a fact and not pleasant to look at like some other teas. The leaves/bits have a nice soft mint-y smell though.

The smell of the final brew has a green tea aroma with a hint of mint. It smells pretty good. Not amazing or anything, but still pretty good.

n important thing I found about this tea while experimenting with brewing times is this: DO NOT LET IT STEEP TOO LONG! The recommended amount of tea for one cup is half a tea spoon. Pour near boiling water over the leaves and brew for only ONE MINUTE! If you let this tea over steep, it is really unpleasant.

But if you brew this tea correctly, this tea makes a pretty good cup. It tastes primarily like Green tea, but with a hint of Mint. It is a nice mix, but the mint could be a little stronger in my opinion. It has a pleasant minty aroma that lingers in your nostrils for a while after you smell it. The mint/green is a nice mix. The green tea attributes really magnify the mint's soft, almost medicinal qualities in this pleasant mix.
