Thumbs up!"The pineapple and papaya definitely shine through in this tea, though I wouldn't recommend multiple infusions for this blend."

serendipitea-fiji.jpgI have yet to experience a Serendipitea tea that hasn't impressed me, further convincing me that Serendipitea products are of high quality and made with fine ingredients. Their Fiji Green Tea, which is a combination of green tea, pineapple, and papaya, offers a crisp, light and refreshing taste. This is a green tea with a very pleasant, mellow flavor that would be really good for those new to green tea and not quite accustomed to the earthy flavors that typically characterize green tea. The fragrance of this tea is remarkable, and if sniffed with eyes closed, one can almost be convinced that he/she is on a tropical island; indeed this tea was appropriately named. The blend is very attractive, with noticeable pieces of dried pineapple and also what appears to be blue cornflowers (although this is not listed on the ingredient list). I saw no evidence of papaya pieces in the tea, although I am certain I could detect papaya flavor in the tea's flavor and scent. The pineapple and papaya definitely come through in the flavor and provide a natural, balanced sweetness to the tea. I found no need to add any sugar to the already perfectly sweet tea. The green tea in this blend was very subtle and worked perfectly as a base for the fruit flavors.

My main criticism of this tea is that I definitely would not recommend it for multiple infusions. The fruit flavors did not endure beyond the first infusion. While the second infusion wasn't altogether undrinkable, any essence of pineapple or papaya, which is the hallmark of this tea, was flushed out in the first infusion. Subsequent brews are essentially plain and unremarkable green tea brews, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

As long as the tea is only infused once, this is a green tea that I would like to drink often, and hope to be able to again soon. Due to the nature of the flavors and the lightness of the green tea, I found Serendipitea's Fiji blend to pair quite well with meals, in either hot or iced form, although the tropical fruit flavors in this tea are probably best enjoyed on the rocks.

Hi Vanessa, I enjoyed your review of SerendipiTea Fiji.
I have been looking to identify a tea my wife had a local PF Chang’s. She absolutely loved it. It was described on the menu: Tropical Green – Dragonwell Green- Pineapple with citrus flavors. I purchased Revolution Tropal Green….it was not it. PF Chang’s can’t help. Any Ideas? thanks, jon

PF Chang’s has previously told me that their tea served in the restaurant is Revolution Tea products. I would have guessed Tropical Green as well.
