teazone-eight-treasures.jpgI have come to really appreciate the aroma of loose leaf teas. A good smell can really invite me in and set high expectations for the tea. This is the first tea I have tried from Tea Zone, but they have many more that interest me. Eight Treasures is one of those teas that really welcomes you. It has a very nice green-mint tea smell, but with something more. It has a candy-esque quality to it that reminded me of bubblegum. Unfortunately, I could not find this variety listed on their website, so I do not know what ingredients are included. In brewed form, the bubble-gum smell is subdued and the aroma is more like a traditional mint tea.

The flavor does not disappoint. It is that of a very nice green-mint tea. It reminds me of Tazo's Zen ...œ one of my favorite green teas ...œ but with a more complex flavor and higher quality leaves. I am guessing that it includes spearmint and maybe jasmine. It is very refreshing and relaxing. The aftertaste is also clean and refreshing.

This is a great tea that I could certainly make part of my regular rotation. It does not rise to the level of Adagio's Casablanca Twist, but it is an all around good mint tea that will please any tea drinker. It is one that I would recommend to people who are knew to tea, because it has a safe, high-quality green-mint tea taste.
