Its OK"A sweet-and-spicy mint tea... I tend not to care much for ginger or fennel, but this is nevertheless an exotic and exciting tea."

rishi-tea-maghreb-mint.jpgThis is one exotic and flavorful tea. I can't say I hated it but neither did I love it; it falls in the gray area in between. However, I am about to contradict a previous statement about licorice tea: in this blend, it worked for me unlike previous teas. On the downside, I am not a fan of ginger or fennel and they are both present here.

The tea is a fusion of interesting flavors such as: (all organic) cardamom, peppermint, ginger, green tea, licorice root, fennel, clove, black pepper. The green tea provides a stable foundation on which the other flavors blossom. I tasted all these characteristics both as a whole and individually. The overall taste is fairly sweet (but, it's an anise and clove-like sweetness, not a sugary sweetness) with a punch of mint.

Exotic is a very broad term for this tea. It is really unlike anything I've ever tasted before. Stephen from Teaviews commented about feeling like he's near a spice market when he drinks this. I like that comparison. Me, I feel like sort of an impostor because it tastes so foreign that sitting in front of my computer working on homework while drinking it just doesn't do it justice.

Rishi tea continues to impress me with the quality of their tea. I have not had a variety yet that falls short of my expectations. They are a classy tea company with delicious brews. I can't say enough about the superiority of every blend I have tried. This one is worth trying just for the sheer novelty of the flavor.
