Thumbs up!"A good example of a quality first flush tea... with a roastiness and a very slight chocolate note to it."

thunderbolt-arya-ruby.jpgThis website is dedicated to Darjeeling teas. The website suggests that this tea is a cup for those tea connoisseurs who like a smooth tea with the characteristics of a first flush tea well lets see.

The dry leaves had an aroma that was a little like roasted coffee. Not quite chocolate as the description said, but close. The leaves expanded well when wet and provided an array of different shades when examined after brewing. When brewed, the roasted flavor came out stronger and the mouthfeel was definitely velvety smooth. The coffee flavor was gone, but the roastiness was still there, and here I picked up a very slight chocolate note. This is a good example of a quality first flush tea. If you want to see why people make a big deal about them, try it out.
