mightyleaf-marakesh-mint.jpg I have mixed feelings about Mighty Leaf. Some of their tea is great, but some blends leave much to be desired. It's generally split down the middle, for me.

I love, love, love mint tea of all kinds. Spearmint, peppermint, herbal, different types of green, rooibos, anything, and I like my mint strong. Mighty Leaf's Marrakesh Mint is a gunpowder green blend.  It has a typical mint tea scent that could be stronger, but is still pleasant. I'd recommend using a tea bag, not a strainer or ball with this tea because the small pieces fall through mesh strainers easily.

This is one of those blends that doesn't work because the green tea doesn't go well with the mint flavor. This gunpowder tea seems a bit too earthy to blend well with mint. Teavana has a morrocan mint tea that's pretty good, there's is a more smokey tasting gunpowder green, and I think smokey undertones pair better with mint than earthy ones. The earthiness in this tea makes it an awkward blend. The mint could also be much stronger for my taste.  This tea isn't bad so much as it is unusual tasting. I think it's an acquired taste that just isn't for me-however-if you like earthy flavors with mild mint taste, by all means give this one a try.
