Thumbs up!"Even though the nutty flavor was pretty noticeable, I would still describe the overall taste of this tea as clean and delicate."

emperor_med.jpgMy first sampling of the Dragon Pearl tea line, specifically the white tea, left me a bit disappointed. My second experience, however, has turned out to be much more positive. Jade Sword Dragon Well is a green tea with broad, flattened, dark green leaves, a result of the pan-firing method used to make this particular type of tea. The tea leaves have a pretty strong earthy aroma, but thankfully the earthiness is much muted in the brewed liquid. The most obvious characteristic of this tea is the nutty flavor, which I found very appealing. I could also detect a mild earthy flavor and a slightly sweet flavor in the background.  I should stress that by delicate, I do not mean flavorless. This tea offers plenty of flavor, just a bit subdued. This tea held up just fine to a second infusion and produced a brew with an equally delicious and delicate flavor profile. In my book, this tea ranks among the better dragonwell teas that I have had. If you are a dragon well fan, I would recommend you give Dragon Pearl's Jade Sword Dragon Well a try. My main complaint with this tea is that currently Dragon Pearl does not offer this tea as part of its regular lineup. At the time of this review, the only way to obtain this tea is to purchase it as part of the fairly elaborate (and pricy!) "Dragon Emperor Green Tea Box" gift set.
