teagchinafancywhite.jpgBackground:
I am totally impressed with TeaGschwendner teas. I have tried three or four of them and each has impressed me. I would suggest that this is a company you can trust to deliver high quality and tasty teas.

This Fancy White Peony has a marvelous scent in the container. For a white tea I would call the scent bold and striking. This is true especially compared to most other white teas with a more delicate scent dry.

Brewing:
I used two teaspoons of tea for approximately 16 ounces of water. I
stop the water before it fully boils and steep the tea 2 - 3 minutes.

Taste/Impressions:
First, even while steeping this tea has a nice smell. It comes through, which is impressive given that most white teas are known for their delicate and subtle body.

This is a wonderful tasting tea, well balanced, stronger than most
whites and yet not overbearing. Brewed the right length of time
(remember shorter steeping times for whites) this tea has no hint of
bitterness. The aroma has a hint of sweetness. I find as white teas
cool sweetness becomes more pronounced. The tea continues with a nice
taste throughout the entire cup.

On the strong side makes this very interesting and appealing. The
flavor has strong hints describable as earthy and nutty. Keep in mind
that while strong for a white tea it is not strong compared to a full-
bodied black. This tea still comes from a family of lighter and more
delicate teas. It doesn't require your full attention to enjoy like
some whites, which have a very airy and light quality. The tea has an
average length taste, which I pay attention to.

Conclusion:
I have enjoyed every TeaGschwendner tea I have tried and this one is
no different. I am at the point to recommend any of their teas
without hesitation and I generally don't give blanket
recommendations. This is a striking white tea with strong and clear
taste. This makes a very nice morning cup with its flavor and body.
This will become a favorite non-flavored white tea.
