Its OK"Mostly I am just tasting a light bodied green tea with a slightly citrus aftertaste. I am kinda surprised not to get a bit more tropical flavor since there are a fair amount of citrus peel and other goodies visible in the bag."

revolutiontropical.jpgSo, it's no secret that Revolution's Dragon Eye Oolong is one of my favorite bagged teas and you don't find bagged oolong everywhere. However, some of their other blends have been a bit more hit and miss with me. Today I am sampling their Tropical Green Tea and am hopeful to have more a Dragon Eye type of experience with this.

Revolution bags their teas in this designer bag/infuser that is transparent enough to view the leaves with your eye and you get some decent looking leaves for a bagged tea. I infused this for about 3 minutes and that obtained a light bodied green tea (perfect for me as I don't care to drink my vegetables). I ordered a pot of this once at P.F. Chang's and recall enjoying it. I scarfed down about half of the cup thinking that my taste buds were fried from the spicy tea I had earlier in the day as I didn't taste anything tropical. I decided to add a partial packet of refined sugar and that did kick up the flavor a bit. Mostly I am just tasting a light bodied green tea with a slightly citrus aftertaste. I am kinda surprised not to get a bit more tropical flavor since there are a fair amount of citrus peel and other goodies visible in the bag.

While really there was nothing wrong with this, there was also nothing super special about it to me. If I went to P.F. Chang's and someone wanted to share a pot of it, I would certainly oblige them as there is nothing objectionable about it. It is rather light bodied and not particularly vegetal, but the flavor is just very subtle overall. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but I was hoping for a bit more flavor.
