teapigs-peppermint.jpgI love peppermint tea. It's good for so many different things: sore throats, upset stomachs, better breath, mixing in with other blends. Unfortunately, it's really difficult to find a decent mint tea that comes in a tea bag (sometimes you just need the convenience of a tea bag when you're on the go).

However, Tea Pigs brings us relief from tea bags filled with sub-par mint. Their pure peppermint leaves pyramids are the closest thing that I've found to loose leaf in a tea bag, and I have a hunch they're closest thing there is, next to making your own.

The pyramids themselves are silk, and offer a lot of space for the tea leaves to move around while steeping. And the leaves are actually loose leaf peppermint leaves; the look just like the loose leaf stuff sitting in a canister in my cupboard. Each pyramid looks like it has about 2 teaspoons of peppermint in it, which I usually use for two cups of tea, but I started with just one pyramid in one cup.

Admittedly, it wasn't as strong as actual loose leaf, but it was a hundred times better than the tea bags you get at the supermarket, and that alone makes this tea a winner.

Bottom Line: If you love peppermint tea, you must try this! Especially if you've been looking for a better alternative to supermarket tea bags. It's not quite on the same level as actual loose leaf peppermint tea, but it's darn close, making it perfect when you need both the quality of loose leaf and the convenience of a tea bag. It's definitely on my must-buy list!
