chocolattematchamint.jpgThis company must have bugged my tea cupboard to figure out my four favorite flavors to blend together. The mix of sencha green tea, peppermint, matcha green tea, dark roasted cacao, and chocolate flavor packed into a little tea bag sounds like heaven. The scent of the tea is more a mix of mint tea with scent of light chocolate. Chocolate tea makers should be warned: do not tempt chocolate lovers unless you are serious. "Light" and "chocolate" do not go together. I have trouble identifying the chocolate in this tea, but I can tell that the peppermint has been balanced out by something; I can't tell if it's the green tea, the matcha, or the cocoa, but the effect is of smooth, light chocolate mint tea. Very nice. I appreciate that the tea is certified organic and is kosher, and the tea bag is make of unbleached Manila hemp and wood pulp. If you like tea bags but would prefer to avoid environmental guilt, this is a good company to check out. The tea itself is not chocolatey enough for me, but is worth checking out if you are looking for a tasty chocolate mint after dinner tea.

  1. Matcha Green Tea Powder Says:

Agreed. I love matcha, and I often use culinary grade matcha to mix in with traditionally chocolate-based recipes such as chocolate and matcha muffins or chocolate and matcha cake, but this blend just isn’t chocolatey enough for me.
