specialteajazzmint.jpgWhile I'm not usually a huge fan of floral teas, I love jasmine. And I love mint, and when I saw this tea, I was excited to try it as it seemed like a weird but potentially awesome combination.

The scent of the leaves is very much jasmine and mint. Neither one overpowers the other, and they actually go very well together. After brewing, the smell became more jasmine, with just a hint of mint. The actual taste is rather unsurprising; it's tastes like jasmine and mint. It's not nearly as revolutionary as I thought it would be, but it's still quite good. Jasmine dominates the flavor, but the mint comes out more in the aftertaste, though if you're not trying to distinguish flavors, it would be quite easy to mistake them for a fairly mild sweet mint flavor. As it cooled, though, I did start to taste some bitterness from the green base, though I may have oversteeped a bit.

The iced was good, too, especially with a pinch of sugar. Again, jasmine is more detectable than the mint (the mint is actually a bit harder to detect in the iced brew than in the hot). The bitter base was even more obvious in the iced brew, but again, this could have been my fault; I admit to not being an expert with making iced tea.

Bottom line: Not huge on the 'WOW' factor, but a delicious tea nonetheless. If you like jasmine teas, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try. I'll probably buy again, though probably as a replacement for my current plain jasmine tea.
