mightyleaf-organic-detox.jpg"Organic Detox Infusion herbal tea is a lush herbal tea infusion highlighted by the clean notes of mint and basil. Savor this artisan crafted blend in our silken tea pouch, our twist on the gourmet teabag. It's a spa retreat in a cup." --- Mighty Leaf website.

I keep hoping to find a blend of Mighty Leaf's that I fall in love with, but so far no luck. I do like their Mocha Pu erh as far as pu erh goes. Mighty Leaf lists the ingredients in this blend as peppermint, burdock root, dandelion root, licorice root, red clover flower, and basil. Since not of all of the ingredients are the better know ones, I am a little unsure of what the flavor will provide. Burdock, for those interested, has many possible uses but primarily looks to be used to soothe dry skin patches, support digestion, and increase appetite (WTH?). Mighty Leaf's website provides information on most of the ingredients for those interested. I infused my tea sachet in boiling water for 5+ min.

This tastes exactly like it smells. You first notice the peppermint, but it is not an overwhelming peppermint. It is the main player nonetheless. I really am not distinguishing the licorice, which is a good thing since I don't like licorice. I do not know what burdock root tastes like to be sure that it is not what I am tasting, but the basil does stand out in the flavor. I would describe this as being a peppermint blend with a finish that reminds me of salad--but not in a vegetal way. Sort of like the aftertaste that you have once you've consumed a good salad with a savory salad dressing. This blend is difficult to describe.

Overall, I like this blend, but not in a running to the website to buy it because it has such an outstanding flavor way. I might consider drinking something like this upon occasion if I became fully convinced in its detox abilities. It is pleasant and different from many herbals on the market.
