teazone-citrus-lemon.jpgBackground:

This tea has a nice mint smell, but definitely minty but not too much. The Citrus Lemon ingredients are lemongrass, orange peels, rosebuds, and mints. Tea Zone recommends this blend for iced teas. As I have written about before, Tea Zone has a great website full of information with lots of ordering options. I like the website though I have not yet ordered from them.

I can clearly smell the lemongrass and mints. I don’t smell the other ingredients.

Brewing:

Fully boiled water the settled for one minute with a steep time of about five minutes..

Taste/Impressions:

The mint smell is more muted once steeped. The orange peels sort of settle the smell and calm the mint. It could be the rosebuds too.

The initial taste is very muted. At the end of the taste profile the mint flavor stands out. It is funny that it really doesn’t predominate the taste all the way through. Also, when the mint does come out it is very slight.

The blend works well together. It is not sweet. It almost has a slight sour taste and not the bite like some citrus. It is hard for me to put my finger on. This tea would be good with some sugar or honey. As the tea cools the lemon taste strengthens and the citrus becomes stronger. The lemongrass comes through stronger as the tea cools. This is a wonderful experience.

I think this would be a good companion for afternoon. I can see enjoying this during a hectic day to help ward off stress and improve concentration. I like it even without extra sweetening. Isn’t it amazing how different herbs and plants can affect us in different ways. This tea makes me feel refreshed and alert.

Conclusion:

An interesting herbal tea with an intriguing taste. The flavors are well mixed between citrus and mint. All of the ingredients work well together. I recommend giving this a try it might really surprise you.
