Thumbs up!"This tea was a winner at the 2008 World Tea Expo, and its really not hard to understand why. In a word, this tea is delicious. The lemon chiffon flavor is just about as true as you can get without actually eating lemon chiffon."

specialteaslemonchiffonSpecialteas' Rooibos Lemon Chiffon is a tea that I purchased on my own, not a tea that was given to me to review for Teaviews. However, this tea was just so fantastic, that I felt compelled to write a review about it anyway. This blend consists of rooibos, lemongrass, flavoring, and marigold petals. I must admit that I was initially disappointed at the use of the ever-so-vague "flavoring" ingredient, but this tea was good enough that I put my snobbery aside for a moment and just enjoyed the tea. This tea was a winner at the 2008 World Tea Expo, and its really not hard to understand why. In a word, this tea is delicious. The lemon chiffon flavor is just about as true as you can get without actually eating lemon chiffon. All of the desirable elements, such as citrus notes, warmth, and sweetness are there, but there are not unwanted elements such as tartness or unnatural/off-putting flavors. The rooibos base is very gentle in this mix. I had this tea in the evening, and can attest that this is a perfect nightcap. It satisfied my sweet tooth, but was light enough so as not to be overbearing and heavy. I personally found no need for adding sugar, as the flavors within the tea are sweet enough on their own. And while I would say that my cup was about as close to perfection as one can get, I think that I may experiment with a splash of milk on my next cup of this tea, just to see if the milk brings out a new level of creaminess. About 3 days ago, I wrote a review for Baxter's blueberry rooibos, in which I claimed that I may have found my new favorite rooibos blend; well after tasting Specialteas Rooibos Lemon Chiffon, the blueberry rooibos has been dethroned. This tea gets huge points from me, and this is one I will recommend to everyone!

I love this tea – but where can you get it since Specialteas went out of business????!!!!

Tealish’s Lemon Meringue Rooibos is quite similar, and for awhile Teavana had a tea called Bangkok Lemongrass, but I don’t see it anymore.

David’s Tea has a Lemon Cream Pie, but I haven’t tried it, so I don’t know how good it is.

I think Teavana stills sells it under another name. I also know that California Tea House has something similar.
