zhiturkishmintMint blends, in my experience, are usually pretty hit-or-miss. Either the mint blends very nicely with the other flavors, with a definite presence, but not too strong as to obliterate the others, or it incredibly overwhelming, and you might as well be drinking straight mint tea. This one definitely falls into the former, and has a pretty interesting taste to boot.

Zhi describes the tea as "Minty, a bit spicy, a tad sweet, with hints of exotic unfoldings…", and it that's actually pretty accurate. Organic peppermint, licorice, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger root, stevia leaf, clove, and vanilla essence make up the blend, with the peppermint definitely a frontrunner, flavor-wise. The cardamom and clove is also dominant, followed closely by the cinnamom and ginger root. The stevia leaf is also pretty easy to distinguish, as the blend is quite sweet in addition to spicy, just like Zhi describes. The licorace and vanilla essence, though, aren't really present at all. Not necessarily a bad thing, as the blend is pretty darn good anyway.

Bottom Line: Just as Zhi describes, this tea is sweet and spicy, with a surprising smoothness. A must-try for fans of mint blends.
