Its OK"As its name implies, this tea is spicy, in fact, I would say it is very spicy. The peppermint is the foundation for this blend, but the other ingredients provide a peppery, and almost pungent, spiciness to this tea. The cardamom was probably the most noticeable spicy flavor. This tea really has some kick to it, and therefore will likely not appeal to everyone. "

zhiturkishmintTurkish Spice is a signature blend from one of my favorite tea merchants, Zhi Tea. This blend combines organic peppermint, licorice, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger root, stevia leaf, cloves and vanilla essence. This tea really packs a minty punch, and its clear that the peppermint used is of the highest quality and strongest flavor. I sniffed the tea while it was steeping and was hit with a very strong, yet pleasant, mint aroma. The tea brews to a fairly dark color, almost like a paler black tea. As its name implies, this tea is spicy, in fact, I would say it is very spicy. The peppermint is the foundation for this blend, but the other ingredients provide a peppery, and almost pungent, spiciness to this tea. The cardamom was probably the most noticeable spicy flavor. This tea really has some kick to it, and therefore will likely not appeal to everyone. Even though this is a caffeine-free herbal tea, this is far from a soothing tea I would want to drink just before bedtime. I found the spiciness to be just a bit too heavy, so I don't think I will consider buying this blend myself. However, even though I didn't love this tea, I must note that this is a pretty unique blend and the ingredients are clearly top quality. If you like spicy flavors, particularly cardamom, then you'll want to give this tea a try. Some may find that adding sugar will be necessary to smooth out the strength of the spices.
