teaguys-cirtus-burst.jpgThe blenders at Tea Guys have an incredible talent for mixing together ingredients that seem a bit unusual but translate into taste tantalizing beverages. Reading over the list of ingredients for Citrus Burst, the one I was most surprised to find was carrot. True to my previous experiences with Tea Guys, my sample includes substantial pieces of the carrot as well as the orange and lemon peel. Even visually, you just feel like this blend is going to be good for you. Once brewed the citrus aromas are much more pronounced and carry through to the taste. This is one of those beverages that I actually feel healthier just for drinking …but unlike some healthy drinks, this one tastes remarkably good. The rooibos base arrives first on the palate and provides a smooth, lightly sweet start that then rolls immediately into the tartness of the orange, which lingers even after I have swallowed.

I enjoyed my cup hot, but am sure this would be delightful as an iced beverage. As it is free of caffeine, it could be enjoyed any time of the day or night. It would be especially beneficial to have on hand for those instances when you feel a cold or flu coming on and the extra burst of vitamin C is always a plus.
