Thumbs up!"The ginseng does obviously makes its presence known in the flavor profile, but really this is a nice cinnamon-lemon brew that has an ever-so-slight chai undertone to it."

So it might not be the best idea to review this tea right now as I took a 2 hour nap today and it is already 8:00 p.m. However, I do find that when one of my samples sounds good, then that is the best time to review it. I personally believe that tea enjoyment is largely based upon mood and that a particular blend is most likely to get the best review when it matches my mood. This smells sort of citrusy and cinnamony and that sounds like an interesting combo. Teavana lists the ingredients of this blend as red rooibos, apple bits, cinnamon, ginseng root, bean peels, ginger bits, mistletoe, St. John's Wort, lemongrass, field eryngo, cardamom, clove, black pepper and lemon peel. Having never heard of field eryngo before, I decided to look it up on Wikipedia and discovered that it is a member of the carrot family. Used in herbalism as an infusion to treat coughs, whooping cough and urinary infections. Roots were formerly candied as sweets or boiled and roasted as a vegetable.

I infused close to 2 tsps of this in boiling water for 5 minutes to prepare my 8 oz cup. The resulting cup is actually fairly tasty. It does offer a nice amount of cinnamon that balances nicely with the citrus (lemon). The ginseng does obviously makes its presence known in the flavor profile, but really this is a nice cinnamon-lemon brew that has an ever-so-slight chai undertone to it. The cup has a natural sweetness to it, but I did enjoy this best with a pinch of rock cane sugar.

Overall, I enjoyed this blend a fair amount and think that this is exactly the type of drink that you should consider reaching for while experiencing the afternoon crash. This should help pick you up, might deter a sweet craving, and possibly stave off sickness. Overall, I found this herbal to be enjoyable and it will be considered as a possible purchase as we head back into the flu season.
