mcotmintygreenThere's just something about mint that does me right...I find it refreshing and uplifting in the morning, yet soothing and relaxing in the evening. To me, any time of day is a perfect time to enjoy a mint tea, including right now as I sample Minty Green Tea. This tea is offered by My Cup of Tea, a UK-based tea company. Their website has some fun, flashy graphics and because descriptions are very simple and short, it seems to me to target the less knowledgeable tea drinker. I found the description of minty green tea to be interesting because the site lists a bunch of different types of green teas that exist, but doesn't mention what type of green tea is used in this particular blend. The tea comes packaged in individually-wrapped attractive sachets which, although useful for transporting individual bags, is also a bit wasteful. I noticed that the tea bag seemed just a bit smaller than what I am used to for a standard cup of tea. Adjusting for this, I used less water than I would normally use to prevent having a too-watery or diluted cup of tea. The tea has a nice flavor to it, although I must say that despite my efforts, this still tasted weak and watery. I would advise using brewing very small cups (less than 6 ounces) with these tea sachets. The mint is not overwhelming, but gives the tea a smooth and refreshing flavor. The green tea is VERY mild and is a good tea base. It was not at all bitter, and paired very nicely with the mint. I did enjoy my sample of this tea, but the downfall of this tea was the small amount of leaves in the tea bag which resulted in a watered-down cup of tea. I don't foresee myself buying this tea for myself because although it was enjoyable, it didn't have any qualities to make it stand out from the long line of mint green teas available on the market. On the flip side, however, I wouldn't discourage anyone else from trying this tea and I do think that its mild flavor will appeal to those that don't typically like green tea.
