Thumbs up!"Flavored black tea options are hard to find for decaf drinkers and this is definitely worth purchasing if you are in need of a minty decaf. I would rate this higher if the vanilla was a bit more pronounced and I would like to tweak the mint blend a bit."

summitdecafvanillamint.jpg"Vanilla Mint Bliss is a decaffeinated black tea with bits of spearmint and peppermint infused with vanilla. This is a wonderful tea for after dinner. A custom blend that will bring nothing but bliss to your taste buds. This tea can be dessert all by itself!" ---Summit Tea website.

After enjoying Golden Moon's Vanilla Mint tea recently I felt compelled to request a sample of this. I have plenty of rooibos and white tea options available to me so I don't normally seek out decaf black teas. The aroma coming from the package is very minty--almost like a toothpaste minty and it has a hint of vanilla as well.

I steeped this in water that had brought to boiling and allowed to cool a few degrees for 4 min. When I first drew in a breath of the steam coming from my cup I thought that I didn't smell any vanilla, but just as I thought that the vanilla aroma caught up with me. It is subtle, but there. This is good with or without sugar, but the rock cane sugar does bring out the vanilla taste a bit more. I would say that there is something about this that does remind me a bit of toothpaste. The vanilla flavor kinda played peek-a-boo with me while I was drinking this. I could taste it at first when it was sippy/slurpy hot, but then it disappeared until it cooled down significantly. I tried this with a splash milk also and it did tame the mint a bit, but it pretty much drowned out the vanilla completely.

Flavored black tea options are hard to find for decaf drinkers and this is definitely worth purchasing if you are in need of a minty decaf. I would rate this higher if the vanilla was a bit more pronounced and I would like to tweak the mint blend a bit. I don't really have caffeine issues that make drinking decaf a must for me. However, this is still a great after-dinner cup for those seeking a decaf option.
