Not Great"For those who are looking for a mild cinnamon flavored tea, this might work, but I expect a chai to hold a thick viscous flavor of spice that requires a shot of milk and sugar to accompany."

teapigschai.jpgHaving lived in Chennai, India, I have a certain expectation for the flavor of chai. That being said, I’ll explain my mediocre score of this tea. When I first opened the packaging, I was thrilled with the exotic scent of cinnamon, clove, and cardamom, but the flavor simply did not follow through. The tea had a typical dark, opaque appearance, I assumed from the inundation of the whole spices, but I was sadly disappointed in the barely spiced flavor. For those who are looking for a mild cinnamon flavored tea, this might work, but I expect a chai to hold a thick viscous flavor of spice that requires a shot of milk and sugar to accompany. Unfortunately, I was able to drink this completely unaided by either crutch….not because of a great flavor, but because it vaguely reminded me of dishwater, and I’d rather not waste my milk. On an upside note, I bet this would make an excellent wet potpourri as it did have a very nice fragrance once brewed.
