rishitropicaliceAh summer. Time for long, hot walks with our hyperactive puppy, mosquitoes the size of birds attempting to eat every crevice of my body, men who should never be shirtless in public convincing themselves to show off their tan, leathery bodies outside my window, and my husband refusing to drink hot tea but willing to drink gallons of homemade iced tea. Lovely time of the year.

Rishi has been on cloud 9 since the 2009 World Tea Expo, where they won an astonishing 11 first place awards, and this little number is one of those lucky teas to walk home with a gold.

The website says to prepare this by pouring 16 ounces of boiling water over the teabag, letting it steep for 5 minutes, adding 16 ounces of cold water, then pouring it over ice. I opted for the good 'ol lazy approach of heating the full amount of water, steeping for 5 minutes, then leaving the brew in the fridge overnight.

After a touch of sweetener, I found myself sampling a delicious and refreshing blend. The hibiscus does an excellent job of adding tartness and a gorgeous colour without overpowering anything. The passion fruit flavour holds its own in the background with the lemongrass coming out in the aftertaste. The mint makes everything a bit more interesting and cooling. All in all, it's a well thought out, well mixed summer blend.
