teafrogThe first thing that struck me on their website was that you can download an e-book for free called “The Beginner’s Guide to loose leaf tea. It is information the owner has been collecting and put together for use by their customers. There is a ton of neat information in their tea culture section. They have a blog and can be found on twitter. After reading about them, I can really see that they love their tea.
As I opened up my tea sample there was a sweet as well as a peppermint aroma. I can see the peppermint in this gunpowder tea. I prepared the tea as per their instructions. I always appreciate when the company nicely labels the packages and puts brew instructions on their sample bags. The aroma after steeping was mild and malty with a little bit of smokiness. The mint is mild in the taste and the tea is a little astringent. I can taste a variety of different flavors - I like it. I put just a wee bit of sugar which I think added a little more flavor and iced it, which was refreshing. At $6.50 for 100 grams this is an enticing deal.
