coco-la-ven.jpgPre-steep, this offers an overwhelming coconut scent. Post-steep, it's more lavender than anything, although some of the other aromas find a way into the air. The actual listing explains that it combines black tea, lavender, coconut, chamomile, and vanilla. The result is fairly true to that claim, at least in terms of scent.

The texture of the tea is fairly middle ground, possibly a bit on the lighter side of that median. It's smooth enough while still carrying the kick of the black tea core. A slightly spicy flavor spins that texture a little, as spice and texture are never completely independent, but this spin doesn't detract from anything.

With flavor the reigning king so often, this one is primarily a coconut king. Every aforementioned ingredient is baked into the pot, but all of them take a secondary role to the coconut parade. It isn't the painfully excessive coconut that can occur in certain tea tragedies, but it definitely isn't understated either. Personally, coconut isn't my favorite flavor for a tea, but I still enjoy this blend. For anyone seeking the flaky white kiss on the tongue, however, this is probably a masterpiece.
