zhenamojitomint"A Caribbean caress of refreshing citrus and mint and a teaspoon of tropical rum mingle with the bright, crisp, leafy taste of fine green tea to create a new take on the classic libation. A sunny soothing way to wing your spirit and enjoy the day. Warning: Sipping can cause sensations of contentment and bliss." --- Zhena's Gypsy Tea website.

Zhena's Gypsy Tea is not a company that I am unfamiliar with. I have tried a number of their blends as my local grocer carries a limited selection from Zhena and have also sampled a couple through Teaviews. My results have been a bit of a mixed bag as some have been quite good (for bagged tea) and others have missed the mark for me. Mojito happens to be an adult beverage that I love and when I come across a restaurant/bar that knows how to make them and uses fresh ingredients, I've been known to rack up a little bit of a bar tab (provided I have a designated driver).

Zhena lists the ingredients in this blend as Organic, Fair Trade Green Tea, Organic Peppermint, Organic Compliant Rum Flavor, Organic Lemon Peel, Organic Compliant Lemon Flavor, and Organic Compliant Lime Flavor. Since I just had the sachets and no tin with actual brewing instructions, I had to wing it a bit with preparation. I used my standard green tea preparation which was water cut short of boiling and allowed the bag to float for close to 3 min in my cup. The flavor profile on this is ultimately dominated by mint initially, but as it cooled the citrus, rum and green tea were able to capture my attention. The green tea is a nice base for this and it offered no swampiness to detract from the flavor profile. I particularly enjoyed the union of the mint and citrus with the rum flavor in the background.

Overall, I consider this to be a winner amongst Zhena's offerings. This is a nice cup that I think I would enjoy in the office when I am having one of those days where I 'need a drink'. This cup might offer a nice pick me up and is very refreshing. This is a good summer tea. While I am not a big lover of bagged tea, this is definitely one for consideration.
