emgow.jpgAfter wandering about the Gypsy Tea’s website, I was more than ready to try out one of their teas. The company and their commitment to social responsibility is very impressive. And I also applaud their efforts to go Green. I just wish more companies would recognize the fact that there is only one Earth and we need to take care of her.

So onto the tea. The tea sachet came in air and light tight packaging that proclaims that the contents are both organic and Fair Trade. We are also advised that it is a dietary supplement. I don’t know about you but I have never thought as a tea as a dietary supplement but I am always open to new things. The sachet itself contained broken leafs of green tea and I assume some mint. In the scent itself, I am able to pick up a hint of mint but it is overridden by the scent of the tea itself which reminds me of all things of catnip.

I brewed the sachet in my Zarafina set for green teas and bagged. A few minutes later, I was presented with my pot of tea. The tea brewed up a light springy green and again smells like catnip with just a touch of mint. The taste is of a very pleasant light green tea. I am not able to pick up any taste of mint however. Really makes me wonder just what it was called Egyptian Mint and I would have rated it higher if the name actually matched the product.
