Thumbs up!"This one certainly has an interesting flavor profile. The overwhelming taste is that of the tart hibiscus with a peppermint backdrop. The mint adds some coolness that makes this special."

rishitropicalice"Tropical Crimson is a refreshing blend of hibiscus, lemongrass and fruity Caribbean flavors that makes an all natural punch with notes of passion fruit, citrus and cooling herbs." ---Rishi website.

Even though the weather is starting to cool down, when I get really thirsty I want a cold drink. Therefore, iced tea is essentially a year-round refreshment around here. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy most of my tea as a hot drink, but when I have a case of the thirsties... I also had the pleasure of enjoying another one of Rishi's Iced Tea Sachets, Citron Green, which I found to be quite delicious. Therefore, I am hopeful that this will be another skillfully blended drink.

Rishi suggests preparing this with 16 oz of water that has been brought to boil and infusing the sachet for 5 min., which I did. I then poured the liquid over ice and allowed the temperature to stabilize for a couple min. Rishi lists the ingredients in this as Organic Fair Trade Certified™ hibiscus, Organic rosehips, Organic lemongrass, Organic peppermint, Organic licorice root, natural essential oil of tangerine and natural passion fruit flavor. The liquid brews up to an intense red color that rather reminds me of cranberry juice. Due to the intense red color, I am concerned that this blend may contain more hibiscus than I care for and be a bit too tart for me. Therefore, I added a healthy dose of sweetener. This one certainly has an interesting flavor profile. The overwhelming taste is that of the tart hibiscus with a peppermint backdrop. The mint adds some coolness that makes this special. There are also some notes of citrus. Even with a dose of sugar, I personally found this to be a little tart for my taste. However, I only used one teaspoon of sugar for the 16 oz preparation and I think that a second teaspoon might do the trick to balance the tartness.

Overall, I found the flavor profile to be unique and invigorating. I would play around with the sweetener a bit to find the right balance to counter the tartness of the hibiscus. Ultimately, I really liked Rishi's Citron Green more and if I were going to order just one from Rishi that would be the one. However, this is so unique that I would consider adding this to my shopping my cart.
