KTeas' Blood Orange Black Tea is a visually attractive blend featuring thin, smallish black leaves, orange peels, and crimson-hued safflower blossoms. According to the KTeas website, the balck tea is a mix of Ceylon and Chinese teas, and in addition to the orange peels and safflower blossoms, this blend also includes natural orange oil. The dry blend has a warm and inviting fragrance that is citrusy and sweet. The brewed tea is a reddish-coppery color whose citrus aroma is a mellow and toned-down version of what was observed in the dry blend. The flavor of this tea is pretty subtle, and although still enjoyable, I do wish the orange flavor was just a bit more pronounced. I could taste the sweet orange flavor, but I wanted to taste more of it. I did notice that the dry blend contains a generous portion of orange peels, so I would suggest that to maximize the orange flavor, you make sure that you have enough orange peels in the portion that you are infusing. The tea had a pleasing sweetness to it, so I saw no need to add any additional sweetener. The black tea blend used as the base was clean, mellow, and well-suited for pairing with the subtle flavors in this tea. Altogether, this was a decent tea. Perhaps it doesn't qualify as "great" or "outstanding", but I did enjoy it. This is a tea that I wouldn't necessarily recommend as the reason you visit KTeas, but if you do happen to be purchasing from KTeas, then this might be worth adding to your purchase.
