adagiodragonwellThe leaves for dragonwell don't necessarily look like they would brew well because they appear to have a waxy superficial layer. On the contrary, they brew very well growing and giving off their taste, very desirable in the world of green teas. The aromatics of the tea were slightly disappointing because they gave off a very weak and vegetable like scent for a few moments, then it was gone.

The taste is a well picked green. Now, I am not sure how much green tea all others have been exposed to, but I remember back to my first cup of bagged lipton green tea. There seems to be a bite that greens have at the end, an effect that makes the back of the throat pucker with the back of the tongue ever so slightly. The cheap bulk bagged tea did this in a not slight manner and nearly choked the small throat. I have fondly decided to call this the green bite so that I will not have to explain what I mean over and over again about this essential finale of most greens.

This green bite is well balanced and not too strong. All points possible for the sweet and dainty green's taste. Dragonwell is from the Chinese town of Dragon Well, Lung Ching, and is painstakingly dried over great expanses of time to yield the wonderful flavour of this green tea. I believe the preparation of Dragonwell is deserving of high respect.
