kteascarribeandreamWe have finally have had warm weather for a five days in a row. It is time to break out the iced tea to celebrate! I have a sample that I have been saving for just such an occasion. Caribbean Dream from KTeas. This tea just screams to be iced as it contains coconut, hibiscus flower, rose hips, orange peel, pineapple, marigold petals. According to their site, this infusion is also good dry over ice cream or mixed into a snack mix.

Since I was planning on pour it over ice, I made sure to double the amount of dry ingredients then I normally would use. I set up my tea maker using two heaping tablespoons, used a temp setting of 210 degrees and a steep time of 7 minutes. The resulting liquor is a pale pink in color with a very slight aroma of coconut and pineapple.

I sweetened the liquor is a bit of rock sugar and took my first taste. It is a slight tartness from the hibiscus flowers but the predominant taste is sweet citrus. It is like a wonderful fusion of pineapple and orange. The taste is enough to whisk one away to the tropics.

This is an infusion that I will be tossing in my cart along with a few others. It will be perfect for this summer to service at barbeques. I have a feeling that it would probably be really good with a dash of rum stirred in to make up a punch.
