"This is a wonderful blend of Rooibos, banana and walnut flavors accented with banana and cinnamon chips. A great dessert tea!" ---The NecessiTeas website.

If you are a lover of flavored tea blends, then The NecessiTeas is a site that should not be missed. This is one of those companies that has a multitude of blends that I love and many of which are blends that get restocked again and again. Most of her blends contain pretty full flavor profiles and use tea bases that are good enough that they don't detract from my enjoyment of the overall cup. Once upon a time, I got a sample of this in one of my orders from The NecessiTeas. I remember trying it and finding the banana to be a little over-the-top for my tastes. However, I upon sipping on my sample tonight, I think this blend might have been tweaked a bit since I last tried it---or, possibly I am crazy (another very real possibility).

My sample package serves up an aroma that smells truly delicious! In addition to the rooibos, it also contains little dried banana chips, walnut pieces and bits of cinnamon. I prepared this using water brought to a full boil and infused it for a full 5 min. The natural nutty flavor of the rooibos marries quite nicely with the banana and walnut flavors to make a well done banana nut flavor. The banana flavor itself is maybe not the most natural tasting that I have come across, but it is far less in-your-face than I remember it. I think the cinnamon was added to this blend to sort of bridge the gap between the banana and nuts and bring in a bit more of the flavor profile that you find when you bite into a slice of banana bread. The one element that was kind of missing in my mind was the bread. I am not sure how one would get a bread flavor into tea, but I have come across a blend or two that managed to make that happen. As is typical of The NecessiTeas, this one has a pretty full flavor profile, but I did find that I enjoyed this blend best with just a few rocks of German rock cane sugar. It also took a splash of dairy nicely. While I still don't rank this amongst my absolute favorite blends from The NecessiTeas, or even my favorite banana flavored tea from The NecessiTeas, it is still worth consideration.
