Thumbs up!"The thing that I noticed first about this tea is that the black tea base is of a nice quality. By that, I mean that it is better than the ones used on most flavored tea blends! It is quite smooth and the tea base alone is worth the price of admission on this one. "

kteaslogo"A smooth and softly fruity tea with the flavor of ripe raspberries and creamy yogurt. " ---KTeas website.

There is something very familiar about this blend and I think that I have either had it somewhere before or had something very similar to it. It would not surprise me either way as there are a number of tea companies out there peddling fruit n yogurt flavored teas. KTeas lists the ingredients in this one as black teas from India, Ceylon and China, raspberry leaves, raspberries, and natural flavor. I don't know if my sample happened to miss out on some actual dried raspberry pieces or not, but it appeared to only contain the black tea and raspberry leaves. The aroma coming from the dry sample smells very much like raspberries or more appropriately raspberry leaves if you are familiar with their fragrance.

Per the KTeas website, I prepared this using water brought to a full boil, but with only a 2 min infusion time. The thing that I noticed first about this tea is that the black tea base is of a nice quality. By that, I mean that it is better than the ones used on most flavored tea blends! It is quite smooth and the tea base alone is worth the price of admission on this one. The raspberry flavor is mostly sweet rather than tart, but pretty natural tasting. The raspberry leaves contribute greatly to the authentic tasting raspberry flavor. The creamy yogurt flavor is pretty much missing in action. However, if you add a splash of dairy to the cup it kind of compensates for it's absence. Also, I ended up preparing a glass of this iced and found that the blend gave off a hint of tangy similar to what you experience in your mouth after consuming a bite of yogurt. Weird right? Or maybe that is just all in my head? Regardless, this cup is also quite tasty when iced.

Overall, I like this blend fairly well. There are many, many raspberry black tea blends on the market and this is one of the better ones in my opinion largely due to the quality of the black tea base used. In recent months, I have become more and more fond of teas that have quality tea bases so that scores this some serious brownie points. The raspberry flavor is nicely done and I like the fact that it doesn't cross the line into either artificial tasting or tasting too strongly like raspberry leaves. I have had a blend or two where they used too many raspberry leaves and I don't care for the way that tastes. Unfortunately, the creamy yogurt flavor is missing in the hot cut and barely discernible in the iced one. As a raspberry black tea, I like it fairly well, but as a Raspberry Yogurt tea, I find it lacking. Therefore, don't buy this if you are really hoping for anything other than a raspberry black tea with an above average tea base. Had the creamy yogurt flavor made it's presence known, then this would have received a higher score.
