serendipiteanepaleseblackHappiness is a new teas to savor. It is actually a gorgeous day here in the Pacific Northwest and the only thing that could make this day brighter is the chance to try a new tea. My sample today is all around new to me as I have never tried a tea from this vendor or one from Nepal. And I just love new taste sensations.

Looking at my sample, I can tell that this is very definitely a black tea with the leaves having the characteristic wiriness that I have come to expect. The tea is rather pretty as the colors of the leaves range from a pale golden brown to a light green to a deep black. The aroma of the dry leaves was hard at first for me to pin down. My first thought was one of sweetness and of fresh cut grass. Then I was able to pick up the aromas of milk chocolate and cherries. I am looking forward to discovering just how many of these aromas are carried over in the taste.

I used a rounded tablespoon of leaves for a four cup tea-maker. Setting the brew temperature for 200 degrees, I wait impatiently for the steep time of three minutes to finish. The resulting liquor is a rich caramel in coloring. The aroma now is that hard to describe scent that to me means tea and one of melted chocolate.

My first impression when I took that all important first sip is one was one of brightness. This tea has a light crisp taste with a slight dryness on the back end. Most of the aromas did not carry over into the flavor however there is a natural sweetness to this offering and an aftertaste that reminds me very faintly of milk chocolate.

This is a tea that I find to be a perfect fit for a sunny day with its delightful brightness and clarity of taste. Would I purchase this tea for myself? Oh certainly if I was getting together an order for this vendor. I do have to say that after trying this tea, I am really looking forward to trying out more teas from SerendipiTea.

I also wanted to give SerendipiTea kudos on their website. It is bright and very informative. And best of all, they give brewing instructions for their various offerings! A lot of vendors don't so it is always a joy to run across a seller that cares enough about their wares that they give all the info needed so that the customer can truly get the best experience out of their purchase.
