serendipiteacolonilleI have had tragically few experiences with Serendipitea, but I can only recall hearing good things about them. Their website is also one of the more attractive ones I have seen, and while that doesn't necessarily reflect on their tea, having a shopping experience that's easy on the eye is a nice bonus.

This offering is a vanilla-flavoured black tea. To be honest, it doesn't sound particularly exciting, and I thought I would have very little to say about this tea. After 4 minutes with boiling water, I start to rethink my predictions because the cup smells amazing. It is fragrantly warm and inviting. I cannot wait to wrap myself up in the embrace of this tea.

The flavour itself is almost equally as rewarding. It is perfectly blended, with a vanilla that balances exquisitely with the chocolate and almond notes of the base tea. Though I am disappointed with the sight of the bottom of my glass, the flavour lingers delicately and pleasantly.

I say the flavour is only almost as rewarding for one sole reason: the tea is a bit too thin for my liking. When I add more leaf, the vanilla becomes too potent. But if I let the vanilla stay at the level I prefer, the tea is slightly flat. Nevertheless, the cup is very satisfying, with the above complaint keeping this tea at the level of great rather than letting it be amazing.
