kteaslogoThis white Indian tea is from the Oothu estate. The leaf has the look of a white peony, though it has a wider array of colour, and it smells grassy and fruity.

One heaping tablespoon, 160°, 2 minutes. The cup is fruity and hay-like and has a great depth of flavour. It is peachy, nutty, and rather rich for a white tea, which is almost definitely due to this being a partly oxidised leaf. While rich, it still has an underlying delicacy. It is smooth, sweet, and easy to drink.

Steep 2: 160°, 3 1/2 minutes. This cup is more typical of a white. It is lighter and calmer, smooth, and simple. It is a good follow-up cup from the first. I would definitely resteep again.

This is a good, solid white tea, and I would already happily buy it. And then I look at the price: A measly $3 an ounce. That is an incredibly low cost for a white, especially for one as pleasant as this. This isn't the absolute best white tea I've had, but it's an excellent everyday tea, and at this price, you can actually drink this every day without guilt.
