Thumbs up!"A delicate white tea, with notes of honeysuckle and light, fresh baked bread. Well worth the price."

Silk Road Teas is an internet tea company which sells all kinds of Chinese teas, ranging from white all the way to pu-erhs and other hei cha. Most of their teas are relatively middle-range in price, with a few examples being higher or lower.

This white peony contains an even number of buds and very young leaves, both covered in a white down known as tricomes. The dry leaf smells sweet and fruity, with a light toasty aroma similar to that of freshly baked bread.

This tea was brewed gongfu style in a porcelain gaiwan using 3 grams of tea.

The first two cups are sweet, with notes of honeysuckle and light hay with a slighter thicker body than that of normal white tea, while the aroma had distinct notes of flowers and freshly baked bread. The aftertastes were strongly floral and lasted for a good while, and the liquor color was a vivid yellow.

The third through fifth cups faded rather quickly, with the gentle bread-like, sweet, and floral flavors lingering towards the end. Some mineral-like bitterness occurred, but it was mild and did not last long at all.

Overall, this tea was enjoyable, with it's simple sweet flavors and lasting aftertaste. Despite white tea having a reputation as being extremely light in flavor, this tea has enough flavor to make it enjoyable on cold nights or during bad weather.
