Green Kiss is one of several tea-themed chocolates that I have been fortunate enough to sample for Teaviews. Since chocolate is involved and I am a chocoholic, these samplings are a welcomed change from the normal tea reviewing process. Green Kiss is a cocoa butter based confection (think of white chocolate, not the more common milk or dark chocolates) flavored with organic Japanese green tea powder and green tea leaves. My sample was a bright, mossy green, making the green tea powder's contribution clearly obvious. My sample did show signs of speckling on the surface which is similar to what I have observed on milk or dark chocolate when it gets old. The Life in Teacup website only shows this item in its packaging so I don't know if the speckling is expected/normal in this product.

The texture of this little treat is very interesting. I'd describe it as three parts creamy to one part crunchy. The flavor is all about the green tea powder. Imagine matcha in a (mostly) creamy, chewable form, and that's what you get with this little number. I found this to be a nice novelty item and a must-try for any matcha-loving sweet-tooth. Having had other tea-flavored chocolates, I have to point out that this one wasn't my favorite, but it is still a decent treat.
