Thumbs up!"The plum flavor is rather subtle while the strawberry and raspberry flavors were what came through most, but as a whole, the blend is well-done and this is a great option for iced tea. "

Plum Proud is my first sample from the new-to-me tea vendor known as White August Tea Company. I was pretty excited to try this tea, seeing as plum isn't an ingredient that is very often used in teas. I prepared this tea before really reading up on its details on the White August website. I used my standard black tea preparation approach of steeping the leaves in boiling water for three minutes. The resulting infusion was certainly fruity with a noticeable level of tartness to it. The tea had a mildly acidic mouthfeel to it, which I've found to be rather common among berry-flavored teas, particularly those with blueberry or cranberry flavors. I wasn't immediately a huge fan of this tea, and so it sat on my desk for quite some time until it cooled to room temperature. I then popped a few ice cubes in my mug and enjoyed this as an iced tea...what a world of difference. The White August website mentions that "The refreshing tea was made to be iced" and I couldn't agree more. As a hot tea, this blend is mediocre, but as an iced tea, it is truly a refreshing and well-done fruit-flavored tea. The plum flavor is rather subtle while the strawberry and raspberry flavors were what came through most, but as a whole, the blend is well-done and this is a great option for iced tea. If you are looking for that next go-to blend to satisfy your iced tea needs, this may very well be what you are searching for. I would recommend this to anyone who drinks alot of iced tea, particularly to those that like fruit-flavored iced teas. I would not recommend this as a hot tea.
