When I think of Fruity Pebbles, what comes to mind is over-sweetened children's cereal with very obviously artificial fruit thingeys. But still the ingredients in the blend just sounded wonderful so I had to give it a try. I love fruity green teas especially as summer sneaks in.

This blend contains China Sencha, Lung Ching, Pai Mu Tan, papaya bits, pineapple bits, rose petals, and strawberry bits. To the dry nose, the papaya and strawberry aroma merge to create a delicious aroma. They are so strong that I am reminded of one of my favorite juice blends.

Using the green tea setting on my triniTea, I brewed up a pot using four tablespoons of leaves to four cups of water and three minutes steep time. It brews up almost clear with just a greenish tinge and now I am also able to pick out the pineapple.

The taste is pure bliss. I find a lot of green teas to be bland or too vegetal. This green tea blend is perfect. I am able to pick up just a bit of dryness from the tea itself. Just enough to make it very refreshing. Now the fruit on the other hand, I am able to pick out all of them individually yet they don't fight with each other. The sweetness of the papaya, the citrus bite of the pineapple and the brightness of the strawberry all support each other wonderfully. I am not too sure what the rose adds to the blend other then adding some color. I just wish that I had some ice so that I could try it really cold. I am noticing that as the cup cools more of the pineapple is coming forward and becoming sweeter.

I have to admit that I am not that impressed by Tiesta Tea's website. You have to search to find the search function that is usable. This tea however has blown me away and I will be picking up more.
