Before choosing this particular tea, I checked out the entire website and found much of the teas intriguing and chose the top ones to taste. As this is my first tea from White August, I would have to say that we are off to a good start of a potentially long-term relationship.

The brewing tea has a very sugary plum scent. The color is a brownish color that could be construed into being a purple plum like color with a little bit of wishful thinking. Like the scent the brew was whimsically like sugared plums, straight out of the story, The Night Before Christmas. The aromatic fruit was a preserved taste, not a fresh plum taste, which was not a disappointment in the least. The tea was also fine as a chilled tea, but it seemed to loose a bit of the aromaticity that greatly enhanced the brew flavours in the first place.

My only complaint is that White August has no ingredient lists because they hold such recipes close as secret. However, to anyone with any type of food allergy this could be detrimental, and therefore my relationship with the company must only be a fling of reckless abandon rather than a lasting relationship. It is a shame.
