Sensuous. Just the aroma of this luscious blend brings to mind silken tents, mounds of pillows and bells. Why bells, you ask. Because all harem outfits need a bell or ten. Oh and let's not forget the camels.

The scent is about apricots, ones that are almost but not quite over ripe. According to the website, the ingredients consist of black tea, peach and apricot preserves, vanilla bean, ginger slices, whole cloves, and citrus peels. The only aroma that I am able to pick up is the apricots.

I set up to brew using a tablespoon to twelve ounces of boiling water and a steep time of 3 minutes. I have to tell you that some of those black tea leaves are huge once steeped. The wet nose still is strongly apricot but I am now able to pick up vanilla. Not sure where the ginger and cloves are hiding out.

This is a really rich apricot tea with hints of vanilla. Personally though I wouldn't call it a chai as none of the spices make an appearance. It is a really good tea both straight or with a bit of sweetener and cream. I might very well pick some up but I am rating this lower as this just isn't a chai as we think of chai here in the States.
